Also, yes that is Otulissa writing the Guide to the Ga'hoole Tree o3o

I thought Strix Struma and Strix Strumajen were the same owl. In the Book of Ezylryb, Lil tells Lyze that Strumajen Strix prefers to be called Strix Struma.

Otulissa lost her port eye though, which is the left eye. In the image it's her right/starboard eye. Still amazing drawings though. <3

I still don't like the movie, it portrayed all the characters horribly, but this brings them back to the former glory

Please do not use my artwork. If you want a tutorial on drawing owls, you can find one here -> [link] and here -> [link]. You can also look up photos of owls on Google, and get ideas on how the owl works, etc, also knowing more about them (as in what they do, habitat, what they hunt etc) can also be very useful. There are also hundreds of books on owls to help you learn more :> Hope this helped xD

: D I mean that I can learn now some basic things and more later. ^^ I don't try to copy the style, just doing something drawing my way.

And thanks for the tutorials also.

Me too n.n

I also agree, the books were better lol. I still can't understand why the movie producers decided to make Otulissa and Strix Struma (and probably the rest of the "spotted owls") into short-eared owls instead >:I kinda bugs me xD

AHHH!!!! That was sooooo annoying! I was confused at first, then I'm like: Oh hell no, you cant be doin that to me!

Another thing that bothered me: They only covered the first three books or so--no even that!

I don't even think there were any short-eared owls in the books xDD

I wish that a 2D animation were made for it instead xD something that actually matches the story, species and plot >.<

Wasn't Ruby a short eared owl? And the two owls from st Aggies? Jed and Jud, I think. It's been awhile since I've read the books
